In terms of what I'm looking for, I guess ease of resource gathering, base building and army, but I know some games have more resources than others Aoe simplifies it with food, wood, gold, it's just three resources you need while other games have 1 which makes it easy but scarce, others have too many resource ex.Cossacks, which have 6 I believe. I think that's what it is, the expectations to be able to play and feel that genuine excitement playing the game is to high in comparison to AOE, atleast for me.
